These 3 Coccothrinax crinita were planted out from 5 gal size in 2010, and haven't stopped to look back since. Look at the progress is just 5 years:

Great looking palms George - and what great growth you have achieved as well. Before and after pics are always a welcome reminder that palms do get bigger and better with age.

Now, speaking of old men, if only the before and after of us gardeners would reveal the same. :)

Beautiful specimens George and great growth, tell me, do "you" grow a beard to spur em on each time you return to the Island ? :)

I have always loved C.crinita and it took me 10 years to find one, even then it was only about 20cms high. After 3 years its up to 30 cms only. I just haven't got your touch.

I came. I saw. I purchased

Dean - I can attest to being Bigger (and of course Better) with age but I'm not posting any after pics to prove it :) .

Pete - No whiskers here (although Lynn would like for me to give it a try) - I think all the added gray to my face would only make me look older and I'm old enough looking already.....

Peachy/Matt - Thanks, and I wish I could take credit for the "touch" but I think its the year round growing conditions that gets these chugging along. I do my share of zone pushing, but I have this philosophy that if you can find a place that makes a plant happy, it will do a remarkable job of taking care of itself. - gmp

They look great, Dr. G. I planted our Coccothrinax collection so close together (Excuse - I was a total beginner) and they look pretty good but are not as nice as yours. I forgotten which is which so I can't tell them apart. Also, they look so much alike that I can't tell them apart. we'll be having a garden tour early next year....hope you'll be on island and can do some ID'ing for us.
