Ocean Solutions - Good for Palms ?

Featured Replies

This product is used by many growers of organic foods. Just curious if anyone has used it in their garden, specifically on their palms ? Has anyone noticed any increased vigor and health to their palms with its use ?

I think I used this, or something similar. It was ridiculously expensive, like 90 bucks a gallon. I used an injection unit to spread it with a lawn sprinkler. As I recall no spectacular results. Now I did use the same technique with a Alaska Fish Emulsion, and I did see notable results using that. Got to put up with the smell, but it is gone in 2-3 days then the plants take off. Must really kick the soil microbes in gear. Was a life saver when we had our all time record drought a few years back. Needed far less water in areas where I used that.

sounds like a marketing scheme to me??

Hence the reason for my question. Seeing the cost factor, I threw it out here to see if someone else took the plunge. I'm certain that its not a snake oil product. Probably great for feeding vegetables but was not sure how well it would perform as a supplement for the palms. Claims are made that it gets the soil microbes cranking. Knowing how much oak leaves that Keith mulches with and he felt the fish emulsion worked better, I think I'll pass trying it.

Anyone else tried the Ocean Solutions product ?
