Just planted some Regia I got few days ago. New to This site, they were bursting out of 15ga and are already 12'! Can't wait to show up my neighbor who has 4 large queens in front yard. Has to trim and clean those things all the time.

Welcome to Palmtalk Briank! Are you new to palms, or just new to Palmtalk?

Royals are one of my favorites. I planted 5 exactly like yours about a year and half ago. They are really starting to look real nice now, pushing out new big "dark green" leaves and fattening up a little. Good luck with your royals. Do you have any plans for more palm trees?

Those Royals will nudge your fence with a bit of time. They get a LOT fatter here than in Florida or Hawaii, especially regias.

They will "self clean." But, note the size of the fallen leaves: http://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/46348-site-roystoneas-with-care/ That big leaf is from my middle Royal, planted in October 2004 from a tiny baby. (My biggest makes leaves even bigger.)
