Tampa Gardens and Nurseries

I'll be in Tampa for a few days next month and would like to visit a botanical garden that has a variety of mature palms, and maybe stop by a Palm nursery to pick up a few plants that I am not able to come by here in Texas. Any suggestions?

Go over the bridge to St. Pete and see Kopsick Garden. For nursery palms message forum member Mike Evans.

By all means stop by Kopsick Palm arboretum. This is the best free garden for palms & cycads. There is also Sunken Gardens. Both in St Pete. There is also Florida botanical garden in Largo. Let me know if you want to stop by the nursery/garden.

Kopsick should be your number one priority for gardens. Sunken gardens is good but charges an admittance fee. USF botanical garden has some palms but nothing too spectacular. There's not much in the way of nurseries to visit besides Mike Evans. You gotta go down to Homestead to have luck in that department.

I sure am glad I posted as Kopsick never showed up on any of my searches. I'll go there first based on everyone's recommendation.
