So I noticed recently that a certain PT poster that has been very prolific the last couple years was nowhere to be found, looks like he was stump headed a couple months ago. I know he's been involved in some controversies at times in the past but I must have missed whatever the latest has been since I was taken by surprise (but not that much surprise) when I saw the StumpHead status.

Anyway, not sure how appropriate it is to ask, but I am curious about what happened. We all want a fun a respectful forum so I'm curious what it takes before you get stumpheaded.

Corpus Christi, TX, near salt water, zone 9b/10a! Except when it isn't and everything gets nuked.

Yes, this was discussed already on 2 or 3 occasions, and it is not possible to answer this each time it is asked by someone who may have missed it. But since you have asked in a cordial and acceptable manner, here is the public answer - and it will be the last. Further inquiries will be deleted.

The short explanation is that when our policies are repeatedly and incessantly disrespected and blatantly violated, we offer the offending party a three strikes and you are out situation. It is very hard to get a strike, even harder to get a second strike, and it takes quite an effort to get a third and final strike.

All that PT members and lurkers need to know is that many things take place, including violations and warnings, that they may never be aware of. In fact, if I am doing my job, you will only see a small fraction of the offensive, confrontational, and controversial comments and actions troublemakers may be responsible for.

We do not discuss specific disciplinary actions in public. There is nothing to be gained by besmirching the reputation of a PT member, and especially if he/she has no means to respond. But I am always available to answer private inquiries of any kind. Just be assured that in this particular case, despite what you may hear otherwise, there was a very long and troubled history that everyone in the loop agreed had to end.

Are you saying that you wont talk about it in public, but behind a members back, on the phone is ok?

I'm saying that the "owners" of this Forum prefer that palms are discussed, not personalities.

And what I choose to discuss privately on my own time, or as an extension of my position here, depends on who is asking, and what, how, and why it is being asked.

A more detailed discussion, in any capacity, to simply satisfy a voyeuristic curiosity about the "juicy gossip," would be pointless.
