Best give that yatay mule some room. It is the fastest growing hybrid on my property. It got big in a hurry and I gave it no special care.

I got one from Patric on Tuesday. He has both regular odorata/capitata and paraguayensis hybrids, if you are looking for a smaller plant.

Man that pic of Patricks b x Parajub is off the chain! I wonder if that is odorata or Paraguayensis. I have 2 paraguay x cocoides from him. If they will end up like that one, they will win out for the premium poolside spot on my new lot.

Ben, do you know if that pic of Patrick's Butia x Parajub is odorata or paraguayensis? It is a gorgeous palm. I have 2 of the paraguayensis hybrids.

I don't know, no. All I know is I have both - so I'll get back to you on the differences in 5 years. :)

10-12 in ground, of various cocoid types. More in the greenhouse and working on germinating some as well. All fun stuff!

I agree with Keith. I bought a small seedling from patric last year and now it has completely rooted out a 15 gal and is 4' tall with a pretty fat base.

So awesome! I would not try a BxPJ in my climate (I wish).. but I would attempt a yatay mule from some of the info I have been reading...

They are going to be very nice additions.

Thanks man! It's my second Yatay mule. Now I just gotta figure out where I am going to shoe-horn these guys in.

By the way, guesses on the age of the large BxPJC above?

I'll guess 3 years. I bought a BxPJ Sunkha from Patric on Oct. 30. I'm hoping it grows as fast as yours (whatever speed that is).

Gosh, I looked at Patrick's picture again and I am starting to wonder why I am trying to grow any other pinnate palms in 9a.... that thing is awesome.
