What are some palms that you can plant and forget about in Florida?

I'm wondering what might be some low maintenance palms that I can gorilla plant and then just fertilize once in a while with no irrigation here in a Florida. I have a drainage ditch in the backyard and the fill dirt they dug out is piled up in big mounds across the swale in vacant lots. I keep looking over there imagining palms coming off the top of the mounds. Any ideas?

I have a few phoenix Sylvestrus that I started from seed that are starting to get some size, I was thinking about those ?

And don't say palmetto! Lol

serenoa repens are a slow grow but cant be killed

The weight of lies will bring you down / And follow you to every town / Cause nothin happens here

That doesn't happen there / So when you run make sure you run / To something and not away from

Cause lies don't need an aero plane / To chase you anywhere

Bizmarcks are planted here by the city and ignored. I never see deficiencies ever. Other tropical palms have naturalized in the wild in south florida including ptychosperma elegans.

I would also think other natives like thrinax radiata and coccothrinax species of many kinds would do well.

Great ideas! And I have seedlings of P.Elegans and Thrinax Radiata, the later being a bit marginal. I also have a washie that I started from seed that's starting to throw full fans that I forgot about, thanks Steve ! That's definitely going in!

What do you guys think about the P. Sylvestrus?

Bizmarks would be spectacular!

My radiatas are doing well, but I'm curious to see if they dampen off in the winter. The ptychospermas have been the most marginal this far. I have one lone survivor.

I neglect the heck out of my three fallaensis, in the ground. Not even a brown tip! Having said that, I have lost two Sabal 'lisas' of my original three-one to maybe too little water and the other to too much. Palmetto ain't got nothin' on a fallaensis!

P. Sylvestre is a a hardy palm that takes full sun at an early age but would require maintenance unless you don't mind old fronds hanging on the trunk.

P sylvestris is also dying at an alarming rate because of Texas Phoenix Palm Decline. That's an awful shame too cause they are wonderful palms.

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

Yikes!

Mandrew you're Hilarious! I can only dream of Fallaence at this point in time, there is no palm I covet more! The only ones I'm aware of that are available in Florida are $500
