Okay each day I thought I'd set a new record for most mud. However today can't be topped or can it? Post an unretouched picture of yourself after working in your garden and try to top mine.

No mud wrestling photos allowed.

And your still smiling. I love it! Your passion for palms really show, what a great topic. Ok, so what did you plant?

I planted the palms from Noel Pecunia's Aguadilla, PR nursery that I bought in April. They did just fine in pots unattended but we planted them all today. The two largest needed a wheelbarrow. I have photos of all of them planted but too slow for me to stay awake to post them tonight. Her's the list though.

Pseudophoenix vinifera

Copernicia prunifera

Corypha lecomtei

Copernicia borhidiana

Corypha utan

Copernicia berteroana

Copernicia fallaensis

Coccothrinax crinita

I see that these photos are all posting sideways. I obviously need more practice and too much to do here on my last morning on the farm. Sorry!

:lol2: I can so relate to this photo of you, Cindy! I'll post a photo or two this evening. I can also relate to Ante's comment: JOY!

For sure! I can see you were greatly inspired by your trip to Cuba! :)

(Edit: My clothes are usually not allowed inside the house after garden work!)

And here I was getting a complex the other day about how dirty I always am out in the yard.

Kim, I agree it's a tie. You are just as dirty as I am only you are smart enough to wear gloves.

Love your photo as you look just as happy as I am!

Thanks for all your comments everyone. Keep the "dirty" photos coming! I'm currently stuck in a too cold air conditioned room with a not very interesting speaker on sun related skin cancer in animals. Yes, I'd rather be back at La Finca.

Yeah I get dirty too but no pic to show it. It's proof you actually did the planting yourself and didn't hire a laborer to do it for you! lol I think anything we do our own self's has a bit more meaning and our "heart" goes into it.

BTW, I believe you meant to say Corypha lecomtei and Corypha utan rather than Copernicia, right?

Your place in Puerto Rico will soon be a botanical garden the way you are going! Good for you.

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.

Nice sunsets!

Great photos and so glad to see you both back on PalmTalk ! Yes, I can see you both don't mind getting dirty!

Life's been a bit busy here so I've been missing some posts too. I can see you are smart and wear gloves too.

Awesome! Since it never rains in So Cal, I really only get my arms dirty.
