Always love your posts Oliver!!

Are you proposing that all of the photo's in this post and post #2 are all the same palm species? You would know much better than I would, but I would have never guessed that ll if these photo's were of the same species?

Thanks for posting... Your photos are always very welcome!!

Oliver, as always, your posts in natural habitat are spectacular. The vegitation is so thick, it looks like it protects the waxy crownshafts. Post more!

Ah, another shot from the Holy Grail of palminess.

Beautiful photographs Oliver! I have a few Dypsis saintelucei waiting to go in the ground and now I know exactly where to plant them!

Thank you for posting.

That has to be one of the biggest wild Sainteluceis in existence. I remember watching the Jeff Marcus Madagascar expedition and how they only found one about half that size for photos. What a score. I really enjoy your threads Oliver. Thanks.

Yes, those one was very big

For information, in 2006, a Fairchild-MATE expedition in Vohibola had thought to have found a new species of palm (http://www.fairchildgarden.org/centerfortropicalplantconservation/internationalconservation/). In fact, it was finally Dypsis saintelucei. So, it was the first time this species was found elsewhere and very far from it's original area, near Sainte Luce, south of Madagascar.
