PONCE, PUERTO RICO PALM TREE FARMS?

Featured Replies

Could anyone in PONCE, PUERTO RICO please give me an address of a tree farm or nursery where they sell bigger palm trees in PONCE or around it? I will not visit San Juan because of time constraints, only PONCE and the area and would love to visit a tree farm and a nursery there. Thanks for your help!

Average day temperatures: +17°C in the winter and +24°C in the summer. Typical Summer: 68F to 77F (20C to 25C). Typical Winter: 55F to 64F (12C to 18C). Record Low (past 5 years): 45F or +7.3C (once a winter, some winters). Record High (past 5 years): 83F or +28C (some days only). Elevation 140 m (459 ft.) to 160 m (525 ft.), latitude 38.54º. Sunset Zone: unknown

Jardines Eneida is a wonderful nursery in nearby Cabo Rojo and well worth the visit! My largest lipstick palms (Cyrtostachys renda) came from them and I get there at least once a year. They have a large selection of fruit trees, many grafted so are not "palmcentric".

Combine a trip there (which is easy from Ponce) with seeing the lighthouse and stunning beach and interesting salt flats in Cabo Rojo. Here's somebody's information with some photos that Google found: http://www.lifetransplanet.com/2013/11/05/jardines-eneida-start-finca/

If you find any other palm sources in or around Ponce please let me know!

Cool. Thanks! If I find another source in 2 days of visit, I will let you know. If I move there in the near future, I will definitely let you know of all palm sources that I know.

I used to work in Ponce, and lived in Sabana Grande....don't remember any nurseries...but they sure got a lot of stray dogs.
