Spent the weekend in Hilo, and had the wonderful fortunes to visit Bo-Göran's incredible 5 acres in paradise!!!!   Here's a mess o pics. .. I'll probably dork up the id's, so I'll just throw up pics for ya!

Gotta say.... the pics absolutely DO NOT do his place justice! Unbelievable!!!

We also were lucky enough to get a tour of the nursery... and somehow didn't take any pics. However, we went on some of the trails he has blazed through the forest behind his property... it was really fun! Judging from how dense the jungle is, these trails must have been the product of a lot of work!

fentastic coverage and yes its some what like a paraside on

earth.

and i must say iam very angry with Bo Goran for hiding those

beautiful Biziee Ladies from my preying eyes.

he never showed us all that he had such fentastic grown-up

bizie specimens in that wonderful garden ?

And seeing the lipstick palm bunch there my mouth began to

water_may be in my past birth i was a nasty cow or a wild

buffalo.but i know some might say i would have been a jack

ass then  :D

Iam shure it would be a pleasure to drive a landcrusier

or a range rover in Bo's tarmac_ment the drive way at night

with all the pathway & garden lights illuminated.

Hey Bo you are just living my dream_way to go !

We all wish to see the garden which Bo has kept under

iron curtain  ???

Absolutely beautiful as always, and a bit of a different angle on things than we've seen.  I don't know how I've missed the grouping of bottles before, and I too love the tight angle on the Neoveitchia's.  Just magnificent.  And it's always nice to see another shot of Licuala Lane!  And more pics of the jungle behind the jungle is always wonderful.

But it looks like Bo was caught off guard, and didn't smile for the camara :)

Judging by the number of posts you've accumulated, it's more than a thousand!  And Kris, those Bizzies have been posted before, but not so often, as genus-species debates like Dypsis take center stage.  So you've just missed them.  I think it's easy to miss a few things at Bo's place, since it's a jungle over there  :D  !

Those are his Neoveitchia storckii, and I want a whole forest of them!  They are sooooo striking....

Honestly, I was more focused on the Cyrtos to notice the Neoveitchias. Its just the red pops out at me. I love that one......too bad its so tender.

Yes, Kathy and Matt are correct - those are Neoveitchia storckii, from the main island of Viti Levu in Fiji. And I do believe it's correct that they are endangered in their native habitat (reportedly only one small population in a valley there).

It's one of my favorites as well, and we have three groups of them. The one above, along the driveway, plus two other groups. I posted this photo in some other thread recently, but can't recall which one...

Dave thanks for posting the photographs. Bo your place is amazing. The Neoveitchia and Cyrtostachys are incredible. I hope to make it out to Hawaii soon, but if I get out there I may never want to leave.
