The sounds of crickets.

You on the wrong side of Tesla in the game Dean?

Is anyone home?

No Tesla or me - long or short.

But a good day for you, from rags to riches. :)

I am a little frustrated though, trying to understand this game. I bought QLD near the close yesterday, and it would only let me buy about $8,000 worth. What's up with that? It let me buy about $12,000 worth of TGT.

I have found the same. There seem to be some sort of limits on trades sometimes. The game would not even let me do a simple 10% x 10 allocation for the random portfolio.

Ah when I looked at your trades I saw TSLA, turns out it was from the previous game. I don't understand the limits at all, just let me trade what I want to trade. If I want to put all my money into SPY is that a poor way to invest?

I was thinking about buying AA (alcoa) the other day when Ford said the new F150 was to have an all aluminum body. The stock just looked so friggin boring and unproductive. It jumped about 4% since then. Don't know whether it's just following the market higher or I was on to something.

Ford was a nice pickup for me recently as well.

Stocks already up a big amount (for AA) since the announcement, missed a large part of the move by thinking to much.

I thought I already tried to answer that for you. Presently I am looking for the DOW to have a hard time getting much above 17,000 for the first half of the year - I think we need either a correction, or a meandering consolidation to sustain a move much past there. But I wouldn't be surprised to see it closer to 18,000 by year end.

But I don't have enough confidence to sell my positions or buy more here. As you know, I can't time it. So as I said, I am staying long and trying to raise cash in case I have a chance to add some positions during a long past due 10% correction.

Boy - was I asleep at the switch on that one. I never even considered the investment possibilities since I was so excited about the great new truck. I think I heard over 25 mpg on a full sized rust resistant pick up - as my Ford turns 10 years old. You snooze you lose. But maybe I can have a big year and be able to afford one. Anyone know how much more it adds to the price?

Now an aluminum Tacoma, and I would be all over it. MPG could be over 30.

If the new F150 is a hit (no negative news about an aluminum bodied truck) I'm sure others will follow. I'm still interested in getting into AA, if it pulls back a bit. Lighter weight will be a big part of all autos.

I don't know the price of diesel verses gas where you are but GM is coming out with a new Canyon pickup, this one looks decent not like the old Canyon which was a POS. This one will include a small diesel choice. https://www.gmc.com/canyon-midsize-pickup-truck.html?seo=goo_|_GMC_Awareness_|_1744%7C1755%7CIPUS%7CAU%7CG%7CS%7CBP%7CA%7CBMM%7CGG%7CAWR%7CCYN%7CC00-AW_|_General_|_%2Bgmc%20%2Bcanyon

Also the F150 will include a 2.7 liter turbo 4, estimates think 30MPG highway may be in order. Not for pulling a heavy trailer but might be good for what you need. Personally I'm not a GM guy but some of there newer products are very nice.

ok cool - you made a call

if I have you right - you think its flat or down the first half of 2014 and by year end - its up for the year.

also you are letting your money in the market ride.

fair is fair

after my last SELL SELL SELL i ejected out of the market 100%

i am expecting a crash to last 3 months and will buy in at that time

if the market proves me wrong and we rally hard from here - i will get back in

More or less. There are two ways a market "digests" gains - with price or time. A price "correction" is one way - washing out all of the weak holders quickly. The other is a slow consolidation over time - same result, but no violent down draft. In both cases all the weaker hands are out and a new support level is in place.

I'm thinking that this will take at least the first quarter, and maybe the second as well. But I don't know how it will digest the recent gains, or when. But we are already into almost three weeks of a classic consolidation pattern.

So I am content to cash my dividend checks, not realize any gains and pay taxes, and just be patient because I don't see any reason to think the long term bullish trend is over. If we do get the classic 10% correction, I'm ready.

check out this nothing of a company,,,

CANV

CannaVEST Corp. focuses on the development, production, marketing, and sale of hemp-based consumer products to the nutriceutical industry. Its products include hemp plant extract and cannabidoil. The company was formerly known as Foreclosure Solutions, Inc.

1 yr change 1100%

Just start a company with anything to do with pot and your rich. Can pink sheets and OTC stocks be shorted. Brave to do so at this point but this is totally ridiculous.

I have IBB the low octane version of that, Also a decent chunk in TAN which is a very nervous position for me, i have been burned by TAN in the past but seems way more likely to be a winner these days.

Need to find a pot stock that not already over valued. Cheech and Chong used to make bongs, wonder if they are going public? (thats a joke by the way)

TRTC seems to be the least over hyped of the bunch presently.
