Saludos from Mayagüez,

This one busted out recently. Actually, this was the palm that really got me noticing palms as

I drove past its VW sized fronds. Luckily there are a few more around here.

Is that Corypha inside TARS (Tropical Agricultural Research Station) or just outside their fence?

It's my husband's favorite palm species and I'm sure he'd like to see it. We have seen several in that area on previous visits. Thanks!

What a massive palm. It's scary to think that the Tahina is even larger.

I've been watching one for the past 25 years, never found out what it really was until about 10 years ago. It's really huge now and I'm expecting it to flower sometime soon.

This one is on the UPRM campus, so outside of TARS. It's near the entrance

though, right across the street from the cerveceria. Not sure how the TARS Talipots are

doing, but I will try to ride my bike through there soon.

Nice visual and glad that more Talipots could be propagated from the seeds its about to produce...

Is this the same tree or another one nearby?
