I'm always told that large Royal fronds and crownshafts weigh 60 Lbs. I've picked them up before and I think it's actually more like an akward 40

I recall a dead leaf from a big Dypsis on the Big Island, with swollen leafbases supposedly weighing 100 pounds. Don't know if it's that much but it was HEAVY, I'd say twice as much as a big Royal, which is around 40-50 pounds.

I wait until they're down and brown, but a dried frond off my R.rivularis can easily weigh several hundred grams...

A Royal that is green, full of water with leaf base easily goes 70+ lbs. in this neck of the woods. This happens during wind events.

Brown dried fronds - around half the weight.

Corypha utan and umbraculifera are the heavy monsters in my opinion. Perhaps beating out the Raffia palms in total weight.
