Putting My Money Where My Mouth Is...I Renewed My IPS Membership

Featured Replies

I will be the first to say that I have taken the IPS for granted. I am at a point in my life where the IPS and even Palmtalk is not very high on the priority list. But, it is still an important part of me. This past week reminded me that I need to stay involved with the things I care about and not just skate by and let others take the reigns. I hope to be a contributing member of the IPS.

Thank you

Well said!

We are several PT members who- like you - do care and hope to be contributing members of the IPS.
I must add I 'll do it through Palmtalk and dare to pretend that I can post photos of few palms in habitat that could interest scientifics of the IPS too.

I am impressed by the amount and quality of pictures Palmtalk possess in the archive, and (again if I dare), many pictures are of higher interest and quality than what we find in Encyclopedia of Cultivated Palms, revised edition, in which species like Areca catechu are shown in locations like "exotic"botanic gardens and not from habitat, which photos, if you come for sharing tea and rice and curry with us, are so easy to make. (should I post again my Areca catechu 's pics?)

It seams that most of the time, the writers didn't make the effort to travel where palms are growing, especially in Asia!

I feel that many Palmtalk members, moved by their enthusiasm and happiness to communicate between each other through the planet, can do a huge job, which should be valued by IPS!

Best palmy regards,

Philippe
