Jeff, Olearcea is certainly quick if it has unlimited water supply which you do,( I lost heaps planting them in areas that where too dry where I didn't visit them often) and imo not only the largest but "best" of the Royals, 1 of our dogs giving some scale , still young ( germinated the seed, which was called R oleracea var Venezuelana in 2000) so has "a lot" more growing to do yet :) Pete

Pete, that thing is a monster. Mine is growing in a mix of sun and shade so it's a little stretched out and will probably not have a fat trunk like yours.

Wow! This is my favorite Roystonea. I have a small one that seems to grow much faster than my R. regia that are the same age. I can't wait until it looks like the ones in this thread!
