"They" are going to get us one way or the other.

Whether there is a property tax or not, the state/county will get the $ it needs to function as they see fit.

So, if they cut the property tax, you can bet the farm that the $ will come from somewhere else.  Of course, that somewhere else is you and me......just using a different method.

I have once read that, when all the dust settles, the average person pays out over 50% of their income in taxes.   I am not sure if it is true or not, but it would not be surprising to me.  Ive never tried to figure it out for myself personally (as I suspect I am happier living in a state of ignorant bliss).
