Encephalartos middelburgensis "Avontuur"

I have an extra Encephalartos middelburgensis "Avontuur" available. This is a very rare variety of Middelburg and seldom sold here in the States - at least not a real one anyway. This has the larger leaflets than typically found in Middelburg as seen from a leaf comparison pic below but the real give away is the armed petiole - not found in other Middelburg's. This plant was part of an import from South Africa I did (fully permitted and documented). The only way to get a true Avontuur is by getting an offset from larger plants as only males were ever found.

If you are someone like me that likes to collect locality types, than this is a great one to add. $1200 and it is around 2.5 inches but I am not selling on caudex size. So it could be smaller or bigger. I can guarantee it is rooted and that it has flushed since import.
