Coastline

Here in Northeastern Brazil coastline, the vast majority of the population lives near the water. Most capital cities are located along the coast around beaches and harbours, where the climate is mild, breezy and humid, unlike in the warm and drier countryside.

Here are some recent pictures of one of my favorite beaches in Sirinhaém, at Guadalupe point and also near our house. I'd love to see pictures of everyone's neighboring coastline or fav beaches too. Please let's surf, snorkel and swim...

I would not want to leave that place if I lived there.

I'm always up for learning new things!

Gileno,

You live in a such an incredibly beautiful place, and there certainly seems to be plenty of open space! :)

Olá Gileno,

Nossa, mas que paisagens lindas!  Porquê é que há tão pouca gente nas praias?

Thanks folks.

Jacob: The coastline in Brazil is in fact so long...This beach is located at an old coconut farm and there are not many touristic facilities around (yet !). There are other beaches around here which are much more famous indeed (Porto de Galinhas, Tamandaré, etc) but none has this tranquility...Your Portuguese is perfect...were you the one who lived in Bahia?

Olá Gileno,

Obrigado pelo elogio.  Por acaso nunca estive no Brasil, infelizemente.  Morei em Portugal por quase dois anos e em Cabo Verde por oito meses.  Adoro a língua portugesa!

Gileno,

Is the beer cold yet? I will be right over.  Seriously I hope to find a way to get by there this year.  It has been a long time since I have been to the Nordeste.

Great photos Gileno. The beaches are magnificent in your corner of paradise.

Just curious, has anyone ever been conked in the head by a falling coconut along the beaches there?

I know someone who got a nasty bruise in Thailand from a falling coconut. He said it is more common than you would think.

Gileno, I wish I could say that I owned the island in the background.  That would be my idea of island paradise, just a few hundred metres from the mainland, surrounded by deserted white sand and turqoise waters.  This would be weekend getaway, because I don't think I would be able to grow anything other than coconuts.
