What is the very little one in front on pic "front2" a Licuala seedling?

Is the strong palm middle of the first pic a B. condapanna? nice Licuala on this pic.

It probably needs it's own thread, but for now I will debut it under this one. I planted this palm just before Mother's Day.

The little seedling is a Licuala orbicularis, so great guess. My Condapannas are at my father's place and in full sun. Spot on with the Pinanga coronata ID.

Nice work Andrew. Your garden has come a long way. Also nice use of a pot to point out that is not a weed.

The containers are there more so to keep feet from getting them. The ceramic one in this shot is protecting my sp. pre pak pak.

I think the strong plant in photo 1 is C. houailou, with a large L. Grandis to the left and what looks to be Calyptrocalyx albertsiana to the back ish right?? I have no idea on the smaller palm in the front centre though or which licuala sp. are present..... Maybe L. ramsayii on the left?

I would also guess the palm is post 14 has C.A as its initials.

Kenny--did not see a guess you got wrong. The initials are correct and Steve is not letting me down either. I will get some more photos up soon, guys.

Great garden & pictures Andrew. So I have to ask: where did your A. rubra come from?

It came from a good friend, and he got it from Reunion(not sure they still send them, but they were defoliated and barerooted--poor survival rate).

Ellis Brown at Redlands has a nice crop of A. rubra and A. Crinita coming up. Maybe he got the seeds at a similar time?

No, those came from Hawaii.

I tried to remove the old leaf but it's not ready yet.

Here is a photo of my two Chamaedorea tuerckheimii. The one in the foreground is the female and the one behind it is a male. They are nestled in between a deckeriana and a brachypoda. The neat little palm to the left of them is a Calyptrocalyx julianettii.

How long has the P. phillipinensis been in the ground for you? Mine came out of hawaii looking super colorful like that, but have slowly lost their color. I can't figure out it if's light or temperature.

Gosh, I would have to say almost 2 years if not that long. I have a couple others in the nursery--I think they go through stages of color like a Satakentia crownshaft--sometimes you catch it with that great reddish purple, and other times it's just greenish brown.

Thanks! I've had mine for just about a year now, and it's probably only lost a single leaf. I'll keep an eye out once a leaf falls off.

It looks like yours is in very deep shade, which may play a factor too.

Shade, yes--most if not all Pinangas need it. It's not very deep though--you can read next to it

The sidewalk in my front yard makes for a nice rainforest path. In 2010, there was not a single palm in my yard.
