Hello music lovers, I've just returned from the most amazing music festival. Byron Bay is in Northern New South Wales, on the coast and is in fact the most easterly point of Australia. Every year they put on this terrific music festival. Originally just blues artists but has now spread to encompass many genres, usually bluesy roots though.

Here's the line up that was on, I saw many but impossible to see all in 5 days, I have to give special mention to Roger Hodgson (ex Supertramp), not only one of the three best performances I saw over Easter, but the dude was the only one to have palm trees on stage as part of his stage decoration, looked like Howeas. So fellow aussie ratpackers, I think we must now consider Supertramp music for the drives as well as ELO.

Don't see many (any?) blues artists on that list. Maybe it's time for a Festival name change.

Always good times at the blues fest, glad you enjoyed it Wal. Nearly always raining and muddy too, gumboots are nearly an essential accessory!!

I'm sure you noticed the variegated foxy lady that looks like its just growing in the bush on the way into Byron, every time I see it I wonder how it got there???

Meanwhile, here in the next town down the road from me. Well, maybe a few towns down the road, but not that far.

C'mon Wal, give a little bit...dreamer; next time take the long way home, although you may be bloody well right!

Well, Bonnie Raitt is semi-blues, and the Blind Boys from Alabama are at least southern USA . . .

Quite a lineup.

Did you see Santana, Wal?

Yep. She was the only one I really recognized as blues.
