Watch it rocket away from this size!

Good to know!

I was very happy to see them starting to make such new leaves last month.
As you can see on pics, from 2011 to 2012, they didn't change too much!

Thanks

Carpies are my fastest growers, but the first couple of years they are a bit slower. It only takes about 4 to 5 years to get up around 10 metres. The trouble is that they seed so prolifically and virtually continuously that seedlings just carpet the ground. They're also fairly drought tolerant although slower growing then, and a magnet to termites if a bit stressed.

I have a seedling here in the ground for a couple of years and it is slow but growing nonetheless

I don't have any close ups but here's mine. I have many of them scattered throughout the property and they're really fast growers. Pretty soon you'll have seedlings of your own.

Carpentarias are fast! When I lived in Darwin my (well loved) Carpies put on 6 feet of trunk in one year.

Down here in southern Queensland, they are not quite so fast, but they certainly aren't slow either...

Late afternoon golden light shining on my oldest Carpies...

Daryl,

Thanks!

Carpentaria palms planted in clump is interesting, your photo is nice!

I look forward to seeing ours trunking like yours, but at the stage they reached now, it should start soon.

Have you found that few hundred seed I scattered on your place a couple of years ago? :winkie:

I've got about 30+ that are over 20 metres high. Probably over 100 that are over 2 metres tall. And several thousand seedlings. A very long pole saw would come in handy but I don't have one.
