Attalea allenii seeds with double embryos

Recommended Posts

I got 10 Attalea allenii seeds last year from RPS. I had 6 sprout. All 6 seeds that sprouted with double embryos. A sprout came from each end of the seed. So I thought I was going to have double trunked palms. But I checked them yesterday and the seeds have rotted away and the twin palms are now seperate. What a bargain, 12 palms from 6 seeds !!!

Anyone else have this happen ? I had a Beccariophoenix alfredii like this and now they are 2 seperatye pams.

One of my Attalea allenii has four sprouts. One other has three, and then a few singles.

Mine had no connection any longer. The seed had decomposed and it was just 2 seperate plants in the pots.
