We have 10 seedlings of Dypsis leptocheilos x decaryi that are now large enough to sell mail-order. They have healthy root systems and are growing in 1 gallon containers. Price is $50ea which includes priority s/h. We accept paypal, visa, mastercard, AMEX, discover, and money orders. PM me for details.

There have been a few recent posts by people who are growing this beautiful hybrid so you can learn a lot about them here on Palmtalk. We created these hybrids ourselves through manual pollination right here in Ft. Myers, FL.

Jeff,

The one on your side-front yard is one of the nicest trunking specimens I've seen. How is it doing?

My teddy cross is fighting currently to be the largest palm in my front yard.... and its a close contest. :D

Growing very nicely, maybe a little slower, but only due to the constant flowering. A beautiful palm!

I bought one of these years ago and by far it is the nicest palm I have. I should have bought all three when I say them but they were not cheap.

With a tin cup for a chalice

Fill it up with good red wine,

And I'm-a chewin' on a honeysuckle vine.

Just recieved my 3rd Tribear from Seabreeze, and this one has a very red leaf! My other 2 have been growing fast for me for several months and seem to like full sun right from the get go. Looking forward to getting more.

After seeing all these pics.....I cant believe I left mine in my yard when I moved from my house in Tarpon Springs last year! But, it was just too big to move easily. Its gotta be 16-18 ft tall.

This thread has inspired me to drive by my old house (only 10 min away) and see how shes looking.

I DID have a "red" leaf one that I traded to Matt P. I think its doing great...

I have to say, I felt like the "Pied Piper" of teddy crosses out here when I had some to sell. Its nice to see how well they ALL are doing!

The seedlings in the photo are representative of the seedlings we have available now, except they are currently in a community pot. We are going to pot them up to 1 gallons (like in photo) next week, so now is the last chance to get them at the seedling price (3 for $45). *LIMITED QUANTITY*

Palms not just a tree also a state of mind

Some interspecific hybrids set F2 seed that is viable. Im not sure if they get doner pollen (back-crossed) or if they self-pollenate though..

Daryl's in Aus has never set seed.

Let us know what happens..

Hello everyone.

Tristitious Dypsis decaryi, madagascariensis, luecobensis and mahajanga.

Has anyone done a hybrid mahajanga? I really prefer the mahajanga look as opposed to the decaryi.
