It was great to meet everyone and seeing Ralph's garden is always a unique and amazing experience. Certainly goes to show that when it comes to planting palms, there's no such thing as ¨planting too close¨! :)

I get to visit this unique beautiful garden every few years and never tire of seeing it again. Great garden Ralph!

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

 

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).  

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.  

Nice sunsets!

Ralph's place is amazing however some smaller palms are not showing significant growth due to the immense competition of the mature rivals planted 6 inches away !
