My D. mcdonaldiana is not doing well. I thought perhaps it was being over watered, but the base of the stem looks good and the root tips were nice and white. Not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts on the issue and corrective action would be really appreciated.

Wish I could help. I have one I got from Jeff Searle and it's an ethereal little thing - 24" tall with a 1/2" diameter stem. It seems very prone to scale. I almost lost it before I noticed it was covered with the varmints. Have you checked for spider mites? Could it be getting sunburned? I keep mine under shadecloth. And I'm reminded I better check it tomorrow for more scale. Hope yours gets better.
