This is the parent tree growing in my garden. I took the photo from the lookout deck on top of my house which is 38 ft. This is the queen that I use for my hybrids when I need pollen.

Tim,

What is Bonsal or Santa Catarina, I never heard of this and what makes it so different? I can honestly say I don't see a difference.

Jeff, Mine came from Anderson seed company about 11 years ago. I really don't know what the difference is. They do seem to have broader leaflets with powdery silver on the underside of the leaflets. Also they grow a little heavier than others that I bought from home depot. I don't know how much of that to attribute to growing conditions.

Beauties - mother and babies both!

hmmmm, interesting. Sorta like Bob Dejong's 'abre ojos'. Wider, more numerous leaflets. Minor difference but it does make the palm prettier in my opinion.
