I came home from a trip to find my Rocheria M. dead. The crown just broke off. Same thing happened to a Dypsis Pink crown, last month. I bought both as

very mature and seeding palms in 15gal pots. It was extremely wet last week and a half, but looking at the stem it is quite dead and looks like it has been for awhile. I've had

two Areca macrocaylx do the same thing, planted as 5 gal size. over the past year. I might be watering too much, but it could be something else. any help or suggestions would be more

than welcome. The stems are not dead at ground level, have been brown and mushy at crown, stem connection.

Where Moose may be correct, something seems out of place for the causal agent to be fungal in natur...i find it odd that the same problem is manifesting in a number of different genera.

Looking at your pics, it appears that there is tissue loss, admittedly not much, but the inside looks slightly concave, as though a small boring larvae had fed at the crown shaft/ trunk area......there does seem to be some tissue necrosis, but that could be as a result of and subsequent to the feeding damage.

Thank you so much for the help. To start I will spray more with the anti-fungal from Bayer. I think I have been

watering the whole palms too much, especially the foliage. It's funny I drive by Manoa valley and it seems

like it is raining all the time, and the palms at Lyon flourish in the wet sloppy rainforest conditions.
