There isn't one true R. violacea in the United States, and all of the photos on Dave's Garden are just var. of R. regis, here's a recent post that should help, Ed

Shirley Mayotte used to have them a few years back. I have not seen them available since. :unsure:

I believe that Dr. Scott Zona may have made an ID of one at Montgomery.

Well go to the eastern tip of Cuba and you will find many Roystonea violacea! They grow just along the roadside among the cofee plantations. But it seems very few Western peole have been to that part of the World! Whell someone has to go there again to collect some seeds then.
