Micheal,Hi mate...I hear ya ...they may be noisy but ya cant help but love em.

Apart from green tree frogs i get red eyed and gracefull greens as well. When i saw white lips at mission beach a few years ago i was awestruck at the size of those things! they certainly add another dimension to the garden :) Chakoro.

We had a great year for frogs last winter during the rains. The whole canyon comes alive with the croak chorus. But alas we are now in the dry season and they have retreated to their crevasas to wait until next year

Eastern North America's own special noise is cicadas--big insects that perform in choruses.

There's always a chance that the very loud Puerto Rican tree frog, the Coqui, might spread to Australia. It somehow made it to Hawaii, and has been spreading.

My frogs are out and about through Spring to Autumn. In the cold of winter you don't hear them. I think all the local frogs come to my place and hang out. The species I get is the Western Tree Frog (Litoria moorei) which makes the sound of a motorbike accelerating through the gears. moooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaa.

I love them.

Best regards

At one time I bred a number of frog species. When the weather was right it was a wonderful chorus. I had red eyed tree frogs, tomato frogs, smilisca bauldini. (Common name unknown) whose voice was so pleasant. One got out of my enclosure one time and began to call one night. Led me right to him. Too bad the Cuban treefrog has such a lousy voice. It's awful.
