Félicitation Samir,

This garden has lots of Mediterranean charm.

But, I have a question for something the photos can't tell : Do you have other fragrant plants than Trachelospermum and roses (ce qui est déjà pas mal)?

The Mediterranean is so fantastic with all its wonderful aromatic plants...

Cheers,

Seb

hello!

I am surrounded by aromatic plants, I am surrounded by a forest of Aleppo pine, Thyna and rosemary, rock rose, lavender and more. this composition of plants is called "garigue"! as the "bush" in Australia or the "Chapala" (I think) in California.

i've got olive tree as well! i'll post some pics tomorrow!

THANK YOU!!

Thanks for these photos, Samir.

I wish I could swim in this crystal clear water right now...

It seems that your holiday house is on the "Presqu'île de Giens" (Giens' peninsula / strip). You're lucky, it's a very special place. Besides, while I doubt Aix-en-Provence is USDA zone 9 (most likely 8, but maybe you're right, hardiness zones vary a lot in just a few kilometres in that area), Giens is a solid 9b, almost 10a. Frost is exceptional there. I'm sure interesting palms would grow in Giens, like Arenga engleri, Dypsis decipiens, Rhopalostylis 'oceana', Parajubaea, and even Howea. Of course, Syagrus romanzoffiana, Serenoa repens, Nannorrhops, Chamaerops, Brahea edulis and B. armata are already common in this part of the Côte d'Azur, so one needs lot's of space to have them all. Although I know a "fou", Alain, who's got them all (and much more) on a very limited surface in Toulon...

Have you visited the "Domaine du Rayol" garden, just a few kilometres from there? I was the guide for a IPS meeting visit in that beautiful garden (where I worked for a long time) in 2002... I imagine you already know this place. Don't you?

thank you!!!

so yep it's hard to determined an usda zone for th region of aix en provence because there is a lot of microclimate on this area, and the temperature vary a lot in just a few kilometres in that area, yep!!i want to say that aix it's an 8c, but 8c, don't exist! but in aix there is a pink bougainvillea so maybe there is some places more protected than others!

Giens! yep the Frost is exceptional a real 9b as you said it!! and sometime 10a!

yep i know the garden of Alain in toulon !! fantastic ,a dream! there is some pics here:http://gardenbreizh.org/photos/jubaea8/album-1106.html

i've never been to "Domaine du Rayol" i think i gonna there this summer!it want to visit this incredible garden! you've had luck to work there!!!!i'm jalous!
