I'm just so in love with this garden, with this place, and thought I'd share some recent pics. The garden was started in early 2008 and the changes from month to month

are hard to believe. One of these days I'll post some pics of the side and front garden which are finally starting to get their groove on.

Tim, what a fantasy you're living, I hope you appreciate it! My garden gives me a place to think, a place to marvel at every new leaf that emerges and it gives me peace (even if I have to get out there everyday with a hose). I can only imagine being in Hawaii where the palms are absolutely thrilling. Congratulations! Peter

Beautiful work, Tim... I absolutely love your Alocasia stingray. Grown to perfection!! I also like the way you mix your foliage too. You have to add some special trees in the mix and then it will be perfect :winkie: . More please....

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, from folks who share not just the palm passion, but the 'anything botanic' passion. You know for all the hype about invasive pests, VOG, and whatever else,

living here is no worse than living in Southern California. If I ever see or smell another skunk, it will be too soon.

What a stunning garden! The A. Macrocalyx is my favorite. How long have those Clinostigmas been in the ground and what species are they?

On a separate subject, It also looks like you have a pretty varied heliconia collection as well. The last heliconia looks like the hybrid between a chartacea (sexy pink sexy scarlet species) and a platystachys (sexy orange) called "Tempstress". Very nice and very rare. I have noticed many Hawaiian gardens that grow different heliconias that I don't see in Costa Rica as I suspect the pollinators are different (different hummingbirds or bats). If anyone is growing Heliconia Spectabilis (as I have seen in several Hawaiian garden pictures), I will gladly barter seeds and will probably have the species you are looking for (I have about 150 species now and many more if you are sourcing a specific hybrid). Carla Black, the undisputed queen of heliconias (http://www.heliconiagarden.com/), could not grow Spectabilis in Panama but I want to give it a go.

Wow, thanks for the 'bump' NApalm. Hard to believe those photos were posted two years ago. The garden has grown well and I'll post some updated pics soon.

Jason, only have about 20 varieties of heliconia and I'm sure I don't have sexy orange. Sounds like a nice one though.
