Liz Taylor died today. She made a lot of really great movies with some great co-stars. I can't even name all the ones she made that I saw. But here are a few of my favorites:

National Velvet - it's a horse movie, of course I loved it

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - with Paul Newman. It was part of a double feature at the drive in with Old Yeller. Cried in one and fell in love in the other.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe? - with Richard Burton whose best line had something to do with "melons bobbling"...

Cleopatra - What's not to like about it?

Anyone else have favorites?

I havent watched too many of her movies but to me she will always be remembered for her work on HIV/AIDS awareness at a time when most people would rather have forgotten about it.

RIP Ms Taylor

I've never seen a movie of her in her hey-days but National Velvet was a nice movie - I'm pleasantly surprised to see it is remembered.

She also played in a couple of the Lassie movies. But I loved her and Montgomery Cliff in A Place in the Sun. Their kiss is still one of the hottest scenes in cinema history.

I remember her from several movies the one that sticks in my mind was "Hammersmidt is Dead"

She made it with Dick Burton.. it was a movie about a fellow selling his soul to the devil--- the acting was great but it was made in the seventies so they sexed it up a bunch with nudity etc. She played this trashy Flo type waitress at a diner who had a redneck rooster type boy friend who made a deal with the devil(dick burton) for fame and fortune

I remember the scene when she first hooks up with the guy and they go it the kitchen and get it on (clothed ) on top of a sack of tomatoes --- typical 70's movie making--- these scenes took a good movie from the box office to the drive in circuit (no vcr's then)

Best regards
