I started growing palms from seeds in June 06'.  I've been hooked ever since.

Here's some of my Syagrus romanzoffiana

Here is some of my Carpentaria acuminatas

here's a happy family of three Carpies

100_1533.jpg

The Carpi on the left seems to be growing backwards.  The root is growing faster than the stem and is pushing itself our of the soil

Here are four Wodyetia bifurcatas.  They're about 4 months old

This is the greenhouse all but my Adonidia are in.  I found the greenhouse at Lowes for $36.00

My last pic is my Adonidia merrillii.  Lowes $16.00.  It's no longer next to the humidifier

Nice greenhouse - so Lowe's has them, huh?  I saw the same one in Park's Seed c/log but think theirs were more expensive AND you have to order it and wait-wait-wait for delivery.  Are the shelves detachable?

I must say that is a nice room you have your Adonidia in.  Unfortunately, my potted treasures have to stay outdoors all the time.

Well, looks like your hooked and on your way. Probably by next summer, you will be building a small little shadehouse out in the yard. :D

The cross bars that the shelves sit on are fixed and part of the structure, but the shelves themselves are removable.

The room the Adonidia is in has a cathedral ceiling and there are windows above the door behind the palm.

Is that a greenhouse? I have seen what you have advertised as a "growing house"...is there a difference between the two?

Well I guess it's what ever you want it to be but it's my version of a green house.

Welcome to the family!

One family, a Gazillion palm trees!

I must check into those greenhouses. Great find!

And your syagrus is coming along fine, on their second leaf already? I have a Syagrus botryophora which is still pushing a first leaf.

What are the dimensions?  It looks like its 62" x 27" x 19" I am looking for something similar.  What name did you purchase it under at Lowes?

The name of the greeenhouse is "Greenhouse Serre Invernadero".  It's manufactured by a company called "Mid West Quality Gloves, Inc."  The dimentions are: 64" X 35 1/2" X 19" (162 X 90.2 X 48.3 CM)

There was one on display in the garden center and a few on the shelf.  Here's a picture of it.
