I built this one two years ago, it's a great unit. This blog talks all about building it and is a must read.

BS Man ... I couldn't find your old post. I was considering the 6x8 but my wife convinced me I would fill it up with one order from Floribunda.

I did checkout "ellidro"s post of his 8x10:

Thanks for the link Freakypalmguy .... Did you do any mods to yours?

I added the screws to the roof panels (I get windy), added a simple automatic irrigation system (PVC, Mist Heads, and a Batery powered Timer), Plastic shelving from Home Depot, and auto roof vents.

If you have the room, I'd spend the extra and get the biggest unit you can, your wife is right. It doesn't take long to fill them up and it's nice to have the extra room for hanging out.

I was thinking it would be cool to get but ... do I need a greenhouse in South Florida? It's Dec. 6 and they are predicting upper 30's F tomorrow morning. My position is changing.

We bought the 6x6 nearly 2 years ago - $104 after 20% off. But we substituted shadecloth for greenhouse plastic on sides & roof to make it a shadehouse most of the year. Greenhouses are dime a dozen but shadehouses are almost impossible to find and/or incredibly expensive. Last night with 36 predicted we covered the shadecloth with the greenhouse plastic and set a small space heater inside. Kept the inside above 44 last night. Biggest problem I have is that the shadecloth has started to deteriorate after 2 summers and the plastic "cloth" around the door has started to disintegrate from FL heat and sun. May need to buy another next spring. The Harbor Freight greenhouses are good deals.
