North Atlantic oscillation

Hello all!

Read about the North Atlantic oscillation in the newspaper today. Its the negative North Atlantic oscillation that makes the winters so cold and snowy. Last winter here in Scandinavia was very cold and snowy and the forecast says the winter is going to be like that again.

Well my palms are at least lucky. They won't go outside until spring comes again. :)

Im not looking forward to this winter. I prefer the "normal winter" with maybe 7 days of snow and that's it.

Ciczi, I certainly hope they are wrong. I do not know if we Floridians can take another Winter like last year.I also hope all is well and I know you now understand that before you never understood what the term "sleep" meant.

What you look for is what is looking

In West Palm Beach you DONT GET winter! Well it does not deserve that name! Here in the cold north we know what winters are! Long cold depressing gloomy months, not a fancy 27 C in the shade November 27. Here frost and snow the coming week, maybe in for a very severe winter this year. Severe is -15 C and colder!

Well I guess that sunny Florida is realy made for softies...

Really the Netherlands can be as gloomy and cold as Hades underworld!

A Floridan would not survive here presumably...
