Previously I have used teddy bears in my palm photo shoots and one time I used a bottle of plum wine I bought from the tropical winery in Bundaberg. I think that winery has closed down since.

Why use objects against palms? well basically to get the size perspective clearly relayed, and because palms are fun, toy cars are universal, and who doesn't like toy cars ? I wanted to use toy animals but then I remembered my grand daughters toy car collection so you can't have them folks, they stay here.

Call me silly, call me loco, call me anything you like, just don't call me late for dinner.

This thread is also inspired by Ari's foxy lady thread and MattyBs Manambe update thread.

First item on the car palm photo spread is an interesting one. This Rhapis has grown from under the neighbours fence from a big Rhapis clump, into my property, what a catch, as they say.

This Licuala grandis was a transplant from Jackson's Jungle, survived well.

Wal, Mr. Late for Dinner, cute idea! I know some palms get gigantic, but that Rhapis...it must be at least 200 feet tall! I want one of those.

Mike and Mike I honestly don't know what it is, that is I don't remember as I got some palms mixed up when I moved up here. You see I had two K.pyriformis, one K.magnifica and a Veillonia alba in pots next to each other back in Jacksons Jungle. I know I have planted the magnifica and at least one of the pyroformis so this guy has to be either the V.alba or the other K.pyriformis. I think it's the alba, what do you think ? The cars don't help at all ?

Wal, he would have got it right first time if the car had been a toy ute!

Hey Wal, nice selection, would be nice to be able to grow stuff like that....this is your new place right....if you could pull back on a few shots, it's always nice to get perspective (but then the toy cars will look like ants right ;)) Anyway, is it just me or your camera...looks like you need a bit of fertilizer to green things up a bit.

Mikes spot on with the guess.

No, it's not the camera, many palms need greening up bad, I've thrown pellet fert around each of them and will add some real manures next weekend.
