I'm visiting my garden after 20 days and in the meantime there has been a surge in growth. Some spears have become new leaves and others seem to be intent more on making a 'point' :mrlooney: Here are some pictures taken today in late afternoon,

These are the new leaves

I. Cocos

And these are the spears

I. Bentickia nicobarica - a real fast grower

post-4418-12830099784102_thumb.jpg

II. King palm

post-4418-12830100046085_thumb.jpg

III. A. merilli (golden)

post-4418-12830063070346_thumb.jpg

IV. Carpentaria - (three months' growth) disappointing performance as I have read they are one of the fastest

post-4418-12830100369138_thumb.jpg

V. C. Urens - Even more disappointing - this is what has come up after 8 months - a real scam

post-4418-12830100557744_thumb.jpg

VI. D. leptocheilos - this very long spear has finally begun to open

post-4418-12830100823436_thumb.jpg

VII. Red Latan, - very red indeed and a slow starter and seems to be preferring to build up some mass onto the spear first

I have other palms in the spear mode but i thought it would get too boring.

Very nice stills & you got there a beautiful collection of palms....And you also have there plently of free space in your garden to improvise on palm gardening.

Thanks for those nice visuals.

lots of love,

kris :)
