Troy,

Prepare yourself for some CA summer. I'm not sure of the temps in SoCall, but we will be over 105F dry and windy in the CA Delta this week....pure hell on earth for a few days.

An enormous expedition. Seems it's been a strange summer in coastal California, cool then scorching, ocean still cold. MattyB puts me at one degree of separation from you (he visited Miami).

Troy, enjoy your California visit! Sorry that you're not making a stop in Hawaii this trip, however. Sometime in the future I hope. Looking forward to your trip pics here on Palmtalk.

Hawaii Island (Big Island), leeward coast, 19 degrees N. latitude, south Kona mauka at approx. 380m (1,250 ft.) and about 1.6 km (1-mile) upslope from ocean.

No record of a hurricane passing over this island (yet!).

Summer maximum rainfall - variable averaging 900-1150mm (35-45") - Perfect drainage on black volcanic rocky soil.

Nice sunsets!

Darold, are you using the "classic blue" skin? Mine stopped its search features yesterday, so I am on the "new version". Anyway, if you know who wrote something, I find it easiest to go to their profile and search from their topics and posts. (But that only works for stuff from the past year)
