Ari needs a new bogun detector. Rockie and Hervey Bay are both appalling dumps but god being a perverse entity also made them amenable to growing most of the tougher tropical palms. Nice neoveitchia though.

Peachy,be careful what you say about people and places in a negative manner as you'll be a candidate for a Stumphead and we wouldn't want that would we!.If you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say it at all.I found Rocky and Hervey Bay great on the contrary, with a good climate, friendly people and fantastic palms...cheers Mike Green(Newcal)

Great selection of palms, I really like the full look on photo #7, with the Areca palm and cycad below and colorful foliage around them. Nice public palm plantings.

Peachy, The locals of the rockhampton area were planting palms and tropical trees under the guidance of the Aclimatisation Society of Queensland since 1869 and gave the legacy of what is now one of australias premier botanic gardens. They showed us what could be grown in the dry tropics.I prefer to call them forward thinking visionaries.
