Coccothrinax sp. trunk

Hi...

Seems like recently my photos have taken an imaginative life of its own. The trunk of the Coccothrinax as seen through the eyes of the camera.

Didn't note anything unusual then. Just click away. Do you see any different? Put on one's thinking caps :P

There are some subliminal faces in your totem pole photo. Very interesting.

Wow!

That's the strangest thing I've ever seen on a palm. Looks like the faces were carved in, better than a hand carved tiki.

Looks like the faces from Easter Island...

Hi Peachy,

That's quite a profound theory... and worth further investigations by palm specialists!! :interesting:

Sadly, these are found on the rooftop (6th floor) of a fairly new (abt 5yrs) shopping mall.

As for tree trunk carvings - many in Vanuatu (South Pacific) also.

:)

My first thought when looking at the photos was "totem pole" Then I studied it closer and thought "easter island faces" ...

Then read the rest of the thread. Glad to know I was not the only one to see faces, and certain KINDS of faces at that! lol! Great photos!

Hi DCA...

Thanks! Rest assured you weren't the only one. For awhile, I'd thought the pics spooked

as the face images turned up in 3pics from the same venue/outing! When some folks couldn't see, I was a little

anyway, not to read to much into them, just our imagination ;)
