on total of 5 seeds of Livistona jenkinsiana, are were born 2 :)

some info please? full sun burn leaves?

GIUSEPPE

Hi Gyuseppe,

I found that these germinated readily and once they were past the strap leaf stage they were moved to larger bags and the ones that did get full morning sun did burn and perish.

It was not even full day sun and they had come from a shade house. So be careful. However our sun here would be more intense than where you are located.

yes jim, germinating with seeds fresh and easy as all the Livistona.

in these days we have a strong heat from North Africa, heat burned a newborn Livistona muelleri !

I have a lot of livistona Muellerii, but only 2 jenkinsiana, I put them in a place that takes only three hours of the morning sun

GIUSEPPE

I found that filtered sun is fine but direct sun is too strong for them until they are about 1.5 metres tall. Most livistona don't take sun when they are small.

Warm subtropical, with occasional frosts.

These are my favorite Livistona. A few pics from the garden. They have very glossy leaves. These are shade grown, so large leaves & long petioles.

The ones in the garden are ~9 years old, from a 3 gal container. They have been slow growing in the moderate shade. That is fine w/ me, because I can see the glossy leaves better.

yes eric I see also leu gardens shaded green leaves.

mike in nine years and grown a lot, hot florida ! in my city we certainly in nine years will be half !

I see that no there are large plants in the USA ,and recently cultivated ? in Europe there are only small plants
