& its interesting to snoop around in dead peoples houses.

we are sufficiently "coffee'd-up" & ready to shop!

at sales like this before.

lots of interesting stuff but over-priced.

i hate sales where the seller knows what things are worth.

Yup, I don't stop at "Estate sales" much as they are traditionally overpriced... :(

Then again, I SHOULDN'T be stopping at them anyway!

(I keep hearing about my brother and mother trying to get my Dad to "purge" while he's still around. I heard 4 cars in storage lots and storage rentals in TWO states, one has not been a resident of for 15+ years?..)

See, now you know where I get it from.:hmm:

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

i enjoy estate sales more than the typical "garage sales" because you can go inside & see how people lived.

sometimes its interesting, sometimes creepy, but you can always go home & shower afterwards.

estate sales aren't usually more expensive per se,it was just the luck of the draw this time.

Just an aside...

I haven't been to an estate sale since I was a child. But it was a doozy. This was in the mid-1960's in rural Texas when they still laid people out at home sometimes in smaller communities. Yep you guessed it...the sale was going on and the deceased was laid out in the 'parlor' in the casket. Almost like he was going to have the 'final say' on the prices, lol. I remember asking my mother if he was for sale. I had nightmares about that for years.

some of the best ones i have been to were in rural ND,where people kept EVERYTHING.it was loaded onto flatbed trailers in the yard & auctioned off on the spot.

i have never seen one where the deceased is still present, however
