Howdyall:

I was drivin down the road, lookin for a place to drop a load, when I saw this cell phone tower on the 60 Freeway, near CrossRoads Parkway exit, on the eastbound side. (I was heading west!)

On the one hand, redwoods are not a So-Cal tree, though they'll grow here.

On the other hand, that is a nice piece of work, for alla dat as Mr. Burns might have said . . .

Whaddya think, lads, lassies, and the twixtians . . . . ?

And a close up of the top.

Marge, that poor redwood tree appears to have a really serious fungus infestation!

Some look better than others, that one is not too bad. Here's a shot of my money maker. Funny story about mine, the idiots from the Rancho California Water District (the water company) showed up at my home to inspect my water tower

Matt, how much do they pay you a year? Is it serving multiple carriers or just one?

There is a phone tower on the other side of the city that is tricked out to look like a palm. I must get a photo of it next time I am over that way.

I came. I saw. I purchased

I'll stick with the old saying, "you can't polish a turd". The water tower is a good one! Keep them structural and don't mess with mother nature on any count, I say.

If you go to Las Vegas you'll notice that all over the city are these cell phone towers, meant to mimick Phoenix dactylifera of Washingtonia robusta.

Towers are only allowed on city and commercial property around here. The city was going to have one installed in a park but the residents got all upset about the radiation and made them move it to the assisted living place. No one cared how much radiation the old folks got I guess. I looked up the American Cancer Society about the radiation and they said it was about one billion times less than an X-ray at your doctor's office. Nextel was going to pay the city $25K a year plus a bunch of relandscaping.

So many species,

so little time.
