Would a Bismarkia survive out in Vegas???

I spyed some bizzies in the driveway between two casinos a couple of years back but for the most part it is the usual suspects; lots of Phoenix, butia, washies, and Euro's. There are alot of microclimates generated from the tall buildings. At the Mirage I believe or one of the other casinos there was an eclosed area with some exotics.

The Mirage is a great place to see palms in Las Vegas. It enjoys the tremendous UHI effect of the strip area, and has a very dense canopy of CIDP palms around the pool and elsewhere. Beautiful Brahea armatas there but also notable is a nice Arenga engleri as you head out of the hotel toward Caesar's Palace, and nice Rhapis excelsa under the overhang at the entrance. Best pool in Las Vegas hands down. You can actually get in the shade of the palms next to the pool and enjoy yourself, rather than frying to death under that dreaded sun. Lots of other great plants in the pool area: Crinum asiaticum, lots of orange Tecoma hybrids, and gads of other neat things that seem to thrive there.

Not gonna start my own thread but I’ll revive this one since It will be awhile before I’m ever back here but I’ve been taking photos why I’m here and I’ll possibly add more later when I take more photos 🤠

I do have short videos too to compile of the palms blowing in the wind when I’m ready throw them together

Really nice, it's almost surreal how the hotel Ny Ny looks like the real thing but after global warming is done with us!🫠

It can be tricky to find plants that will tolerate such heat and lack of humidity but at least Vegas is protected from extreme cold from recent polar blasts. Beautiful specimens esp the Braheas!
