I don't think you would be standing so close to a L.saribus. I recently bare rooted one of the horrible things to send to someone and bled profusely. They have very long, very sharp spines. Matty I also concur with the mature wilsoniana.

I don't know either of those two (guys). As for the palm we need better shots. The petiole would help and one without the dewds may be better. If I had to say I would go with Peach.

Gyuseppe, when I saw it I thought it was a Livistona chinensis too! I agree with Daryl. Does it have a hastula and short sharp teeth on the petiole? Peter

Hi Johnathon

had a wonderful visit with Giuseppe and his family, Guiseppe uses google translate to read Palmtalk and does not speak English. His son is leaning the English language at school so he tried to teach me Italian and i tried to teach him Australian err English.smilie.gif

We toured his palm garden and saw his seedlings area. He has a lot of space for more palms and he is looking forward to planting more. It was a very nice visit, when you enjoy talking about palms, language differences does not appear to be a problem.

Was on a friends boat and we ended up near Napoli. Took the opportunity to visit Guiseppe on the on the spur of the moment. Guiseppe's wife spoiled me with a excellent genuine Italian lunch, we all had a good time, there is always a way to communicate. Do not have a way to resize my pictures at the moment , will post some later

Is that a private courtyard? For a second I thought those palms were growing indoors. I bet Giuseppe grows only the right species for his climate, and grows them all to perfection. Just a guess!

it is hard to believe you can fly many places all over europe for less than 75 aud

the trick is to use your frequent flyer points to get here first, saved them for 12 years or so
