Slow release palm fertilizer

Featured Replies

In my country palm culture is very limited (although there are thousands and thousands of CIDP, washingtonias and trachycarpus...but that's about it), so there's no way I could find specialized palm fertilizer in the local market. During the past 3-4 years I've been buying from an american company (Nutristar)but I'd like to try something new. So, does anyone know of a company that sells slow release palm fertilizer and would ship products to Europe (Greece)? If it's a european company, even better (lower shipping costs). Thanks!

I've used this stuff for the last few years, great only having two applications per season instead of one per week!

I get it from www.mypalmshop.com, they should deliver throughout Europe. The website is being updated at the moment but I emailed them and was told they could still do a sale.

Thanks madgav., I know mypalmshop, the problem is I recently communicated with them and apparently the company is in the process of changing management or something like that, so it's not clear when they'll be back to business and if they'll still going to sell fertilizer by that time...

Wow, here's the reply I got:

Gavin,

We're trying to get it all back online in 2-3 weeks. That soon enough? Sorry about the inconvenience. If thats a problem, let me know what you'd like and I'll try and work something out for you.

Hi,

Can you let me know how long the shop is going to be closed for? I would like to order some slow release fertiliser for the upcoming season (& may be tempted by one or two plants while I'm at it ;-)

Thanks

Gavin.

That was nearly 4 weeks ago though! If they don't get up & running again soon AND sell fertiliser then I may also be looking for a new source for the slow release stuff!!!

That's the reply I got about a week ago:

Hello Basilio,

I'm sorry to have reacted late but I had to do some checking if we could deliver. I'm afraid it's not possible at the moment. Shortly the shop will be administered by my colleagues in another location and I will concentrate on the technical side of the business; I will pass on your request and we'll let you know when the fertilizer becomes available in the hope that we're on time for you!

That's why I'm already looking elsewhere, but still in hope mypalmshop will be soon back to business.

Ok I emailed them again and didn't get such a positive reply:

Gavin,

I'm afraid it is going to take a while; I can't actually say how long as I have stopped my own involvement with the site other than managing the mail during the transition. I know that the ambition is to be on line failry quickly but I can get no commitment at the moment and as yet no stock is available there. I'm very sorry to dissapoint and should the situation change I'll get in touch pronto.

Yours

Rory

Any chance of the shop being up and running again soon? I'm at the point where I need to buy fertiliser! ;-)

Hi Basilio,

The fertiliser I got from mypalmshop was branded 'gardenpalms.com'. Not sure if/how it is possible to order from gardenpalms, browsing their site now......

Ok here is the response from gardenpalms, hopefully of some use to you ;-)

Dear Gavin,

My palmshop.com will become an international website. THis is a huge project and will take some time. Meanwhile let me know what you need and we will send it to you. Just take a look on the website of gardenpalms and let me know what you need. We have slow release 1kg and 2,5 kg for prices you normally pay.

soon mypalmshop will become active again.

Regards,

Herbert

Here's a link ! they sell most of the agro based products made from organic matter & they are mostly slow release and very gentle on the plants & environment. :)
