CFPACS Spring Meeting • Vero Beach

March 27, beginning at 10:30 am

Our spring meeting will include stops at three gardens, an auction and plant sale. Our day will begin in McAnsh neighborhood just south of the Vero Beach airport where we will visit the gardens of Andreas Daehnick and Justin and Kimberly McSweeny. The gardens are adjacent to one another, two stops in one! Andreas' garden contain one hundred six species of palm and cycads. The McSweeny’s garden has over ninety species of palms and cycads. Both gardens have been in development since the mid nineties.

After lunch we will visit the garden and nursery of Lee and Jay Rathbun. Situated on 8 acres, the Rathbun’s cultivate numerous varieties of plants including a good selection of exotic palms. Lee and his business partner Allan McCarthy have been installing landscapes in Vero for nearly thirty years. They are legends of the local plant scene. They run the Indian River County Rare Fruit Council. In addition to a garden tour, we will have an auction and plant sale in the afternoon.

All are welcome! - you no not need to be a CFPACS member to attend the meeting.

For schedule and directions, please see the CFPACS web site.

For pics of the McSweeny garden, please see Justin McSweeny's Palmpedia page.
