 Somebody posted this palm ages ago, and I have yet to come across this. Junglemusic Palm Nursery may have had access to these seeds, but that's just a rumor. Anybody know where I can find this palm? I may be moving back to Germany, and this palm seems like it do OK in that climate. Whoever snapshot this picture, can you please tell me where I can get the seeds? I MUST have them!!!!

Dear Zachary :)

Nice to know that even you love the lipsticks ! But these palms are very delicate & are not cold hardy..And i think this palm will be readily avaliable in florida.

And for seeds here's a link : Cyrtostachys renda

_'Sealing Wax Palm, Lipstick Palm'

By the way i live in south india very tropical zone but still i find it difficult to keep these palms healthy ! :hmm: Till this day i have lost around 2 of these beauties and remaining one is just struggling..

love,

kris :)

I understand North Pole Magic Nursery has these. Problem is, you have to be a good little boy or girl to get one.

They require a lot of elf care and tons of reindeer manure (and that's a lot of bull....).

I vaguely remember that topic, and I think it was the work of freakypalmguy. I thought it was real at first. Zachary - Kris is right. Cyrtostachys renda are not cold-hardy as the photo would have you assume.

Freakypalmguy!!! I need you to tell me if you got any seeds! Surely you did!

Kris, I want to have the one that is hardy! I cant find it anywhere online! This palm looks like a zone 1B palm!

I don't know why this palm just doesn't decide to evolve to handle freezing weather, as it would extend it's chances of survival by being grown by almost the entire population of the earth and it would become King of palms, the master of the rainforests and the alpine slopes. :D

Judging from its apparent cold-hardiness, it may have come from the same area as this palm:

(Note there actually is a needle palm under the window.)
