My hubby and I ran the MCM last Sunday in DC.

It was a very nice race. The Marines put on a good event.

There were 21,379 finishers...my place in all that sea of folks was finishing at 5311 out of 21,379.

I ran a 4:04 race and re-qualified for Boston, not that I am ever going to run that Godforsaken freezing marathon again, LOL.

I would have had a sub-4 hour race, except I was clumsy and fell down on the bridge between miles 20-21. Split my lip open, skinned my nose, extensively bruised my pelvic bone on the right side and scraped up my right palm...we lost between 4-5 minutes wiping off the blood to see if everything was indeed still intact, (it was) but my pace after that was a little off and I just couldn't pick it back up. Slowed down from right on a 9 minute mile to about a 9:20 minute mile. That coupled with the 4-5 minutes lost was enough to put me over the 4 hour mark.

It was a great weekend though...we went out to lunch in Georgetown and ate dosai and dal at a little vegetarian Indian joint, and that night took the Metro up to Bethesda and ate loads of most excellent Indian food at a place called Haandi's...I had some kickin' veg biryani, samosas and onion kulcha along with malai kofta...hub had a very large Tandoori mixed grill. We agreed its a good thing that Haandi's does not mail food Fed Ex to FL or we'd certainly go broke.

We'll be in Houston in January to run the Houston marathon, that should be a kick. We are doing it with my husband's brother.
